Bredolab stadigvæk aktivIT-Sikkerhedseksperter og hollandsk politi foretog en nedlukning en Bredolab botnettet den sidste week-end i oktober 2010. Men tilsyneladende er botnettet ikke fuldstændigt stoppet reporterer ComputerWorld den 28 oktober 2010. Under operationen blev 143 command-and-control (C&C) servere som fungerede for Bredolab lukket ned. Det antages at Bredolab har inficeret 130 millioner PC'er globalt. Fox-IT et hollandsk firma udnyttede Bredolab til at distribuere beskeder til de inficerede computere om at de var under angreb.
