Nye funktioner i SPAMfighter Exchange Modul 3.1.0

Your SPAMfighter team is proud to announce the release of SPAMfighter Exchange Module version 3.1.0 featuring:

   * Image SPAM Core implemented
   * Diagnostic
   * Sender Filter improved
   * Antivirus Filter improved
   * Incident notification
   * New features in Administration Module (Latest news, Support, About)
   * Improved start-up speed
   * Better support for distribution groups
   * Automatic reconfiguration when service user account is changed

Image SPAM Core implemented

The most noticeable feature introduced in SPAMfighter Exchange Module 3.1.0 is the introduction of a brand new “Core engine”, which is the foundation for detecting spam. Besides being faster and better to detect spam emails, this also introduces the ability to detect the new kind of spam emails called "Image SPAM", which contains pictures instead of texts.
When an "Image SPAM" email arrives, it will be analyzed by the “Core engine” and a unique "DNA" of the image is extracted and searched to determine whether or not the email is spam, and should be blocked.

Diagnostic
In rare occasions SPAMfighter cannot integrate itself into Exchange correctly. To detect and correct this in these very rare cases, a new Diagnostic tool has been implemented into the Administration Module. This will check the Exchange for all SPAMfighter integration needs, and will give the option of removing anything that may cause problems with integrating into the Exchange.  The Diagnostic tool is available as a new menu in the Administration Module.

Sender Filter improved
The Sender Filter, which filters emails based on black- and white-lists, has been improved to check all email addresses found in the email header. This improves the scanning in those cases where the “From” address differs from other possible addresses hidden in the email header (eg. Sender, Reply-to etc.)

Antivirus Filter improved
The Antivirus Filter has had some features added: Quarantine email, Encrypted attachment acceptance option and Corrupted attachment acceptance option.
The Quarantine email feature will scan an email for viruses.  If a virus is found, an email will be sent replacing the infected email with a notification to the receiver that an email with a virus has been found, and quarantine the email in an encrypted file added as an attachment to the email.
You are able to decide whether or not these contents should be allowed with the Encrypted attachment acceptance and Corrupted attachment acceptance.

Incident notification
The Administration Module now includes an "Incident notification". This will, through non-intrusive pop-ups, provide the user with important information that they should be aware of and watch out for. The "Incident notification" will inform you of problems such as licensing information, integration problems, etc. If you never see the "Incident notification" it simply means everything runs as it should.

New features in Administration Module (Latest news, Support, About)
We have made some changes and additions to the Administration Module. The most noticeable is "Latest news" which is a new feature that provides you with various news items regarding SEM.

Improved start-up speed
We have updated the start-up procedure of SEM to speed-up the start-up some. This has been done through altering the start-up procedure and using an optimized Rescan timer.

Better support for distribution groups
Since version 3.0.0, SPAMfighter Exchange Module has had support of distribution groups. In rare occasions when certain characters appeared in member names, an error could occur when retrieving the list of mailboxes. This has been fixed in version 3.1.0 which also introduces support for nested distribution groups and security groups.

Automatic reconfiguration when service user account is changed
SPAMfighter Exchange Module is dependent on a service user account. Previously, if or when the password or username was changed for this user account one had to manually reconfigure parts of the SEM. This is now handled automatically through the Security menu in the Administration Module.

Various updates, tweaks and fixes
Many other updates, tweaks and fixes - too numerous to mention here - have been made to SPAMfighter Exchange Module version 3.1.0. You can read the full release history here:
