Pfizer is the worlds largest drug company and the company behind the drug Viagra, which helps a lot of men around the world to a enhance their sex life. Viagra is a very effective but also expensive drug.
This has made a lot of people interested in getting in on the action in the lucrative market for these kinds of drugs. Therefore, a lot of counterfeit drugs have been made, and are on sale on the Internet. One of the popular methods for pushing these fake drugs is, unfortunately, spam-mails.
While researching for this story alone earlier today, I received 6 e-mails, that all wanted to have me buy Viagra in less than 1 hour! And all 6 mails were from different senders.
Not only is this kind of spam annoying millions upon millions of people every day, but it's also annoying Pfizer. So much so, that the company has decided to team up with Microsoft in finding and suing the spammers.
Pfizer even warns potential buyers of these drugs on the homepage www.viagra.com. Not only are these products on sale in this hideous way, but they are often timesplacebo-products, which do not deliver the desired effect. In other words, just another way of stealing money from people in need of help. A scam.
What is worse, is the potential health risk in taking these fake drugs. In many cases there has been proof of dubious production methods, that could prove a risk to your health. In other words, if you are in needof the assistance of Viagra, you should buy the real thing. To say it very bluntly, it's probably better not to have a sex life than not to have a life!
As mentioned, Viagra is a fairly expensive drug - the price is from $8 to $12 per pill. So when you receive spam-mails offering you pills at a big discount, you can assume, that it is a scam. The best case scenario is that the pills are worthless. In the worst case scenario,they could be dangerous to your health. So a good advice is to avoid the tricksters offers.
Pfizer has more good advice on their Viagra-homepage on how to avoid this kind of spam. One advice is classic: Be careful about distributing your e-mail address or even publishing it, which is difficult if you're a professional.
But one word of advice, which is probably the best of them all is don't buy the fake drugs. If no one buys them, it will eventually put the spammers out of business. And isn't that what we all want - to avoid spam!
