A cure for spamA Danish computer wiz believes he's found the antidote for picture spam The creator of Danish internet search engine Jubii, Martin Thorborg, has announced an invention that could benefit millions of computer users: a defence against the latest junk email craze of picture spam. As existing computer programs have improved their ability to filter junk email, spammers have begun attacking with a new weapon, 'picture spam', which send texts as a picture, thus cheating spam filters - until now. 'I would like to think that we are the first in the world to have discovered a sensible antidote to this kind of spam, which is growing rapidly,' Thorborg told it-news service ComON last Friday. Thorborg's solution was to hire a picture specialist to analyse the problem. Working with the picture specialist, Thorborg was able to produce a computer program that reads the picture as either colour coded or not colour coded.
