Install anti-virus software to keep computer bug-free

Approximately 3.6 million households do not have anti-virus protection for their computers. This new data from Consumer Reports shows consumers' vulnerability, especially since home computers hold sensitive information such as credit card numbers, home addresses and passwords. Consumer Reports Spring 2006 Electronics Buying Guide recommends the following tips to protect your PC: Always have an anti-virus program. Trend Micro's PC-cillin Internet Security 2005 and Kaspersky Lab's anti-virus Personal 5.0 were among the magazine's top recommendations. Have more than one spyware program installed. Recommended applications included Microsoft Antispyware, Webroot's Spy Sweeper, Computer Associates' eTrust PestPatrol and Spybot Search & Destroy.
