Spam and the Enemy Within

Imagine how much time is wasted on spam. This translates to loss in productivity for companies. In addition, some of these unsolicited e-mail messages may also contain viruses or worms which are a threat to the recipient's desktop PC as well as the company network.
It would be easier to mitigate the problem if there was a way to define spam. However, defining spam is not that easy. What is spam to one person could be a much-needed e-mail on property options for another person.

The enemy within

While companies are concentrating on using filters to keep spam from coming in, most do not realise of the security risks from within their own organisation.
