Draft of 'spam' circular debatedHA NOI -- The Ministry of Trade hosted a seminar in Ha Noi yesterday to introduce the draft of a circular to guide trade promotion in the electronic media.
The current draft has 12 provisions on the above-mentioned issues and deals specifically with email advertisements, usually called 'spam', an annoyance experienced by most email users. The draft outlined punishments for internet crimes, ranging from fines to criminal penalties. Potential financial penalties range from between VND1 million and VND20 million (US$62.7 and $125.4).
