More Spam = More PhishIt's no surprise that the big jump in spam volume that started in October would translate into a similar boom in phishing attacks. After all, although "traditional" spammers hawking herbal penis enlargers (and "semi-traditional" spammers playing stock pump 'n' dump scams) are still a dominant force, phishing is where the real money is. September-October data from the Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG) released last week confirms that phishing is up and up, way up.In fact, the numbers are scary: The number of unique URLs related to phishing attacks in October was 757% (you read that right) over the year before, and an even more amazing 236% increase over April 2006.
