Consumer Alert: Mothers Being Targeted by Spammers

Boca Raton, Florida April 29, 2008 - SPAMfighter has uncovered many new mothers day tricks and spam mails trying to lure e-mail users to open links to naked videos of their mom, or purchase sex toys as gifts.

"Spammers are good at picking holidays and sensitive topics to target e-mail users. This is another example of why e-mail users need to be careful to have the latest protection against spam in order to avoid these threats and harassment." offers Alix Aranza, Managing Director of SPAMfighter North America.

Spammers are sending out offers for mothers day gifts that include sex toys, in hopes that unsuspecting e-mail users will fall for their scam. SPAMfighter warns computer users against making purchases from e-mails from unknown senders. By opening the links and/or purchasing "gifts" in spam mails, computers are opened up to malware, phishing and in worst case, identity theft and data loss.

Spammers are taking this sexual harassment a step further with a new video. Following the "naked spam" mails that have recently been sent out, spammers are now sending "your mom naked" spam, claiming to have a video of the recipients mother naked. When the recipient clicks on the link to see the video, malware is downloaded to the computer.
