The Latest news subject provides the user with up-to-date news regarding the development of SEM. The news are date-stamped, and listed with the latest piece of news first. In addition to this, the news are divided into five different categories; Release, Beta, Development, Toolbar, and Bugs.
By using the Filter settings, the user is able to list only news from specific categories, rather than all pieces of news. The Filter settings is simply a row of checkboxes located directly above the actual pieces of news. All checkboxes are marked per default, causing news from all categories to be listed. To filter off unwanted news from any categories, simply remove the mark in the appropriate checkbox.
As an example, the settings illustrated below would only case news from the Development and Bugs categories to be listed.
The RSS feed The Latest news subject also enables the user to add an RSS feed from here, into his web browser. Note, that not all web browsers support the notion of RSS, thus make sure your browser does so, before subscribing to the RSS feed.
Subscribing to the feed is done by clicking the RSS icon, either from the General tab, as illustrated below, or from the news section - in the top right-hand corner.
When clicking the icon, the following address is opened in the users web browser: http://cache.spamfighter.com/download/enterprise/semrss.xml. Now, the user must add the address of this "site" to his list of live-bookmarks, as some browsers refer to the RSS sites. An RSS bookmark with shifting contents is then created in the web browser. When the bookmark is selected from the list of such, the latest list of news is generated and presented - just like the illustration below:
