Using SEM
Yes - you can redirected spam to a dedicated mailbox.
You can configure SEM to redirect spam to another mailbox through the Administration Module (Filters -> Advanced)
You can choose to manually install the SEM Client on your Outlook 2000/XP/2003/2007 Client. You can download the SEM Client here.
The SPAMfighter folder will appear in Outlook when SPAMfighter Exchange Module is active for the current user. If spam is found in the incoming email, it will be transferred to this folder.
Because of a bug in some instances of Outlook - SPAMfighter Exchange Module may not be allowed to move messages to the SPAMfighter folder. Please try to delete the SPAMfighter folder manually in Outlook and see if the SPAMfighter folder isn't created automatically upon the next spam email received.
Most likely either the World Wide Web service isn't running - or the SPAMfighter service isn't running.
Please run the System Diagnostics tool to check that these components works as intended
If however, the error message is something like this (note: may vary depending on the .NET framework installed and runtime Windows parameters):
Compiler Error Message: CS0016: Could not write to output file 'c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\Temporary ASP.NET Files\root\fe96de76\62d39449\ndcrnre1.dll' -- 'The directory name is invalid'
then please try to give "NETWORK SERVICE" full access to the Windows TEMP directory and see if this helps.
SPAMfighter is working, and is filtering spam correctly by putting the spam e-mails into the SPAMfighter folder. However, Microsoft Outlook 2003/2007 running in Cached mode will analyse unread emails - and if this determines an e-mail is spam, it will move the e-mail from the SPAMfighter folder to the Junk E-Mail folder. There is no way for SPAMfighter to automatically overrule this client side behaviour.
Solution 1: By configuring SPAMfighter to mark spam e-mails as read, the Junk E-Mail folder will not reanalyse emails that SPAMfighter has already categorized as spam.
To configure SPAMfighter to mark spam e-mails as read, please check the "Mark the message as read" checkbox on the Filters > Advanced page in the Administration Module
Solution 2: Disable the Junk E-Mail folder in Outlook: a) In Outlook, click Tools > Options b) Click the button named "Junk E-mail" c) Choose "No Automatic Filtering" d) Click "OK" e) Click "OK"
SPAMfighter retrieves information about the Public Folders by scanning the paths. If the security settings for the Public Folder website (http://localhost/public) has been changed, then SPAMfighter may be blocked from scanning the paths and SPAMfighter may not be able to filter Public Folders.
Please ensure that you can open the following website locally on the server: http://localhost/public
If an "access denied" message appears, a similar error message appears or the Exchange Public Folder website has been reconfigured manually, please try one of the following solutions:
Solution 1: Repair / reset the security settings for the Public Folder website - and ensure that the website running on http://localhost/public is running on port 80
Solution 2: Reconfigure SPAMfighter Exchange Module to use another path than the default path:
1) Open Regedit (start -> run -> regedit)
2) Navigate to the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE SPAMfighter Enterprise Modules A193D9BC-CA2E-4fea-BBC9-BE578BFA2C5C
3) Doubleclick on the registry value named "PublicFolderWebsiteRootPath" and enter the full url for the Exchange Public Folder website - check with the System Administrator in order to get the correct url and port
The default value is: http://localhost:80/public |
