Anti-Israel Hackers Deface Bank of Israel’s Website

The business site, The Globes, on April 25, 2008, alerted the Bank of Israel that its Website was displaying critical messages against Israel and even after two days the site had been down.

Yossi Saadon, Spokesman of Bank of Israel, said that the bank's site would be up only after the hacking source was verified and when it was ascertained that the assault was over, as reported by Israelnationalnews on April 27, 2008.

According to Bank of Israel, an external provider takes care of its Website's security. Meanwhile, speculations indicate that Hizbullah might be responsible for the hack, while Qatar or Beirut could be other sources.

So far the extent of the damage, whether any data has been corrupted or erased from the site, is still not clear. Saadon said that the bank'...
