Russian Government-Backed Hackers Attacked American-Financed Radio Free EuropeRussian hacker forces, enjoying state backing, have launched a new cyber war in the world's east-west region with the first bulk cyber attack on (RFE) Radio Free Europe/ Radio Liberty, a radio station that runs with American finance and broadcasts from Prague to Eastern Europe and the Middle East, as reported by Sundayherald on May 11, 2008. The hacking attack disabled the RFE sites that serve Kosovo, South Slavic, Radio Farda, Tatar-Bashkir, Azerbaijan, Tajik, and Russian visitors. However, the main target of the attackers was the Belarus RFE/RL portal.
