Police E-Crime Unit Disclosed a Criminal Gang

On May 15, 2008, the 2nd annual report on effectiveness and development of the Serious Organized Crime Agency (Soca) claims that operation Anjowan resulted in the arrest and conviction of the citizens of UK who was using tough and advanced means to extract private data online.

The known cyber crime successes includes Operation Ajowan in which Soca invaded a site where criminals were engaged in transacting stolen credit card and identity details that could lead to loss of around £6 Million to the UK finance sector. Further, Soca also hampered the growth of a developed Trojan that was attacking private information. Also, many criminals were caught and losses were stopped to £265,000 out of the possible of £6 Million.
