American Caught for Hacking into Korean Bank Computer SystemOn May 15, 2008, police caught a US citizen who was found guilty for hacking the computer system of Korean Savings Bank, crashing down the system and trying to blackmail the bank for monetary gains. As per the Cyber Terror Response Centre of Korean National Police Agency, it has happened first time when a domestic bank computer system is hacked. In April 2008, the accused "J" is reported to have hacked into the administration system of loan data of the bank and infected the database of the customers, thus incapacitating the bank. Shockingly, the hacker left a message that US$ 200,000 should be transferred to his account failing to which the system will remain unavailable.
