Facebook Subject to Critical XSS Flaw

According to Xssed, a company that provides information on software security, Facebook is susceptible to a critical XSS (cross-site scripting) vulnerability that could leave its users exposed to scripting attacks. If anytime a security hole emerges in the social networking site's software, it could put visitors at risk of infection from malware, according to news published in ChannelRegister on May 23, 2008.

Also, the security investigators at Xssed said that attacks which get users into divulging their personal credentials through false logins of third-party Websites too pose a potential danger. Online miscreants could take advantage of this problem to run script code on Facebook to obtain its users' vital information such as authentication details.
