Alert Issued over Olympics Storm Virus

The security firms are cautioning about a latest virus attack that uses the upcoming Beijing Olympics to circulate new kinds of storm malware, as reported by vnunet on June 19, 2008.

The reports informed that the attack comes from a mail, which appears to contain the news on Olympics. It says the games will be postponed or cancelled due to an earthquake which has hit China recently. The mail has the video to offer a sound base for the information but rather installs an application called beijing.exe carrying the Trojan.

Vikram Thakur from Symantec suggested not to click on any link in the mail, as per his blog posting, reported by vnunet on June 19, 2008.
