Worm for Windows Server Vulnerability Identified

A worm designed to exploit the recently patched security flaw covered in Microsoft's Security Bulletin MS08-067 has been spotted, said US-CERT, the cyber security agency of the government on November 3, 2008, as reported by InformationWeek on November 3, 2008.

According to the reports, in the end week of October 2008, Microsoft had issued MS08-067 as a patch outside the cycled bulletin to repair a critical vulnerability which could let a remote hacker to take over Windows computers without user interaction. The vulnerability relates to the way in which Microsoft Windows server service deals with RPC (Remote Procedure Call) requests.
