Notorious Koobface Worm Back in Action, Troubling Facebook Users

A worm program that has been dodging Facebook users into downloading malevolent software since July this year has made a comeback and is affecting the Facebook users again, as per the security firm McAfee.

According to Facebook, cyber criminals have launched a new variant of a notorious worm, dubbed as "Koobface". This malicious program is spreading through Facebook messages, purporting to be videos. These messages state "you look funny". While the user tries to watch the video, he gets directed to a new website where he is urged to download a specific program to see the video content.

As per security experts, the software is malevolent. Once this worm gets installed, it leads to the installation of Trojan horse and keylogging software.
