Mozilla Issues an Umbrella of Security Fixes for FirefoxThe Mozilla-developed Web browser, Firefox, issued a number of security patches for its latest versions and discontinued support of Firefox 2 in the process. Users are asked to install free updates designed for 2.0.0.19 and 3.0.5 from internet for rectifying different cross-site scripting (XSS) flaws that could allow hackers to launch malicious attacks on the browser. The update further fixes a severe JavaScript privilege escalation vulnerability that attackers could maliciously exploit for stealing users' confidential data. It also repairs another very serious flaw that could allow attackers to insert malicious URLs to the reinstating feature of the browser.
