Taxpayers Warned About Fake IRS Websites

Spammers are infamous for exploiting current events with which they try to attract unsuspecting consumers towards their malicious schemes. The tax-paying period is one such appropriate occasion when spammers deceive consumers to access their private information to commit theft of identity.

In an effort to help the US citizens to avoid this kind of exploitation, the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) has issued an alert to inform taxpayers that scammers through their scams try to cheat people into giving their financial and other personal information.

The agency is reminding citizens that the official address of the IRS website is http://www.irs.gov/, and also asking them to be cautious of other websites ...
