Spam King Allowed to Leave Jail, Lives in Seattle

After being in prison for over 4-years, Robert Soloway is once again free. The man, referred to as 'Spam King' because he led a spammers' gang, which dispatched a total of 10 trillion spam messages during 2003-07, is currently striving to revive his daily living at Seattle (USA). Betanews reported this on March 3, 2011.

It was during May 2007 when police actually arrested Soloway and accused him of carrying out 35 instances of offence including ID-theft, money laundering and fraud following which he was sentenced during July 2008. Regarded as a most dangerous spammer among the 10 most perilous spammers worldwide, Soloway also had to accept defeat from Microsoft along with an ISP in Oklahoma in multimillion dollar lawsuits because of his deeds.

State reports that he together with his gang earned some $20,000 daily. But now Soloway asserts that there are merely some hundreds within his coffer, while he's employed in one printing outlet in Seattle earning $10/hr.

He further claims that he's no longer into the spam business. According to him, if he dispatches junk e-mails, he would be violating his probation. He's being extremely cautious. Incase he e-mails to anyone he'll dispatch the message to that person only and not even CC it to another person, Soloway indicates. KING5.com reported this on March 3, 2011.

Nevertheless, Soloway will remain under federal watch. He'll let probation officers supervise all the e-mails he would dispatch along with every website he might go to over the forthcoming 3-years.

Disturbingly, at one time Soloway was the Internet's curse. Alongside selling Viagra drugs priced at $149, he also gave lessons on how other spammers could market their own stocks of Viagra. Moreover, he acknowledges of having dispatched over 10trl spam mails while in the spam business.

Encouragingly, for the victims of Soloway, there's no more royalty left in his life. Today he wishes for imparting knowledge to businesses and consumers about the ways to stay away from spamming and its evils, while helping by disclosing whatever happened within the world of cyber-crime. Besides, he states, nobody should believe what he says till they watch him create good.
