Georgia Authorities Probe Into State Mansion of Governor Hit with Phishing Attack

GTA (Georgia Technology Authority), which is critical for IT infrastructure of the state, has started one investigation into certain phishing attack aimed at the Mansion of Georgia's Governor, thus published AJC.com dated September 10, 2015.

Reportedly according to Paula Calhoun, Authority Spokeswoman, an infringement was made at the official residence of Governor Nathan Deal inside Buckhead (Georgia, USA) on 9th September 2015. AJC.com reported this.

Calhoun stated that it was still to be clarified if information was hijacked.

She further stated that while the residential office of the governor wasn't allowed to give out information regarding IT security related events; lead officers of the agency were talking to the Governor's officers while work was on regarding the breach as per plan.

Phishing assaults, a frequent type of online deception, occur when a cyber-criminal dispatches an e-mail or text message which contains one genuine looking web-link.
