Anonymous Hacker - Why I Launched Cyberattacks against Hospitals of Children in US

During 2014 spring, hacker collective Anonymous claimed the responsibility for attacking many healthcare as well as treatment facilities of Boston in the defense of Justina Pelletier, a patient there. Due to background of her controversial case, it has become the national attention focus.

This is first time when one hacker allegedly involved closely in the 2014 campaign known as OpJustina, come out openly to elaborate reasons for the controversial succession of DDoS cyberattacks against several centres of the child treatment in US.

"The answer is simpler than you might think: The defence of an innocent, learning disabled, 15-year-old girl", 31-year old Martin Gottesfeld in a long statement told Huffington Post from the federal custody, here Gottesfeld is facing charges for misusing the computer in relation to attacks. "In the criminal complaint she's called 'Patient A' but to me, she has a name, Justina Pelletier".

Ibtimes.co.uk posted on September 19th, 2016, stating that although Gottesfeld claimed minimum harm due to these attacks - especially on the other patients, but a concern causing vocal backlash in fact even within ranks of the Anonymous at this time.

He said that none of the patients would be harmed even if the Boston Children's are knocked offline. There is nothing called outage-proof network, thus the hospitals must function without internet. He further said "it's required by federal law, and for accreditation. The only effects would be financial and on BCH's reputation".

"I finished the code just in time. It ran. BCH's donation page went down. Then, with some donation time still left, I issued the command to stop the attacks - the point had been made", he further added. Justina was not defenceless. Under Anonymous banner, she along with other institutionalized children can and should be protected.

Intentions of Gottesfeld might be clean, but from FBI perspective that was a federal crime. US authorities arrested the hacker from Miami in February 2016, after he ran away alongwith his girlfriend. He was accused for playing massive role in OpJustina, including posting of the Anonymous video on Internet calling for the mass protest. He faces imprisonment for five years.
