The Hackers didn’t Spare Experty ICO and $150,000 in Ethereum has been Stolen

Coincheck exchange of Japan was hacked and around $534 million was stolen. The extremely-waited token sale named ICO(Initial Coin Offering) by Experty has moved to a dead zone, when the hackers deceived the members of ICO with a, announcement of false pre-ICO sale drawing the individuals who agreed to accept the notice into deploying Ethereum funds to a fake wallet address. From this attack the hackers steal about $150,000 in Ethereum. This happened before the ICO event held.

Initial Coin Offering (ICO) of Experty is also called a token sale, which is intended to raise funds for voice and video calling applications like Skype, which is able to receive payment via Blockchain. ICOs are same as IPOs - but may not be controlled in a similar pattern - and in a project, they offer token to the investor rather than company's share as per the post on zdnet.com on the date 29/01/2018.

What really occurred were that in-between January 26 and 27, Experty clients who get the declaration and agreed to accept notices that were requested that via email to transfer money to an Ethereum wallet to purchase EXY tokens and take part in the ICO. This was a false email as the genuine ICO by Experty was supposed to take place on 31st January, then it is obvious the email was definitely sent by a hacker and the address of the wallet was not of Expert team.

The data was stolen by using a compromised PC that was owned by a team member who was associated in handling an Experty Proof-of-Care (PoC) survey. While any assets transfer to Bitcoin Suisse are safe, this does not improve the situation for clients whose data was stolen resulting to phishing.

For the people who send ETH to the hacker, but, this won't bring their investment back.

"We are trying to get in touch with the victims, whose contacts are available in our database to distribute the EXY token of net amount, including the rewards for their level. If anyone wishes to get ETH rather, werequest that they please get in touch with us privately."
