“WannaCry” Ransomware Attack Victimized Boeing

Boeing wasattacked by a cyberhacker just like WannaCry computer infection that make thousands of PCs unusable in over 70 nations all over the world a year ago. All the engineers of Boeing were in the position of emergency to deal with the WannaCry ransomware, which caused destruction around the globe a year ago when it put virus into thousands of PCs by exploiting a Windows fault that they grabbed from National Security Agency, The Seattle Times announced on Wednesday.

Boeing isn't experiencing any issue regarding the production after encountering so called "limited interruption of malware". The interruption would not affect production as well as deliveries, yet a report for which few within the organization scared of the worst as per the post on geekwire.com 28 March 2018.

The incidence of the Hack spread after an announcement,The Seattle Times made, which referred to an internal message dispatched by chief of production engineering of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Mike VanderWel.

VanderWel's message appeared to be alarming, announcing that the assault was "metastasizing quickly all over North Charleston", the particular site of Boeing where they assemble 787s and it also has an engineering center. The article of The Seattle Times linked the assault to the WannaCry malware, which the government of USA accused on North Korea in last December.

Vast organizations are always victimized by cyber hackers, particularly organizations like Boeing who are associated with military as well as the aerospace industry. Statement of Boeing does not disclose whether it was a ransomware attack, where the hacker takes the control of the computer until the owner of the computers agrees to pay ransom, or an endeavor to steal data.

Computers as well as business operations of over 74 nations became paralyzed for the WannaCry assault, forced the public medical system of Britain to turn down their patients and make the Russian government agencies computers freeze and the United State based FedEx. All these incidences are the popularly known ransomware attack.

In this emergency Microsoft provided a "patch" that viably executed the vulnerability used by WannaCry attackers to spread, however vulnerability of the unpatched system still exists.
