Now Surfing about your Favourite Celebrities can make you Vulnerable to Virus Attack

We are at the age of pop culture, where we all are obsessed by the celebrities and their images. We watch them on electronic media and want to follow them everywhere. Our internet searches also include them and their images. However, now, googling for the actresses namely Ileana D'Cruz, Priety Zinta and so on, can cost you being hacked. As per security provider, McAfee, searching for these celebrities on the net can be a costly affair, as now the hackers are targeting pop-culture celebrities in order to attack users.

McAfee comes out with a risky celebrities list on the internet, every year. The list comprises those celebrities names, whose search results may harm the computers or mobiles. The list of 2018 is titled as 'Most Sensational Celebrity' for 2018.

Now, as per McAfee, browsing on the net for the news and latest updates on your favourite celebrities has become a risky affair. The anti-virus security provider has issued an alert for the fans, as the searches may lead them to a virus attack. For example, if a fan searches name, news images or clippings for the actress Ileana D'Cruz, they may face a virus attack, which can hack the computer as well. As per the list of 'Most Sensational Celebrity' by McAfee, Ileana's name is at the top of the charts. Last year, the celebrity whose name was on the top was Kapil Sharma.

The second celebrity's name in the list is surprisingly of Priety Zinta, and the next name is of the veteran actress Tabu. Amongst the top 10 celebrities in the list are Kriti Sanon, Rishi Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra, Priyanka Chopra and Govinda.

According to the Vice President of Engineering and Managing Director of McAfee, Venkat Krishnapur, when any user searches for these celebrities names on the internet, they may also land on to the portals and websites which have hidden spyware and malicious codes. Unknowingly, if anyone clicks on to these links, then the user's computer may face a virus attack.

Venkat further suggests the internet users to be alert and cautious while browsing the net. He adds, "As a precaution, consumers need to think before they click and avoid suspicious links that promise free content featuring favorite celebrities, movies, TV shows or pictures to protect themselves from cyber fraud".
