Website of PetroBangla gets hacked twice within 2 Days
The Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation's official website (i.e. PetroBangla) was hacked initially on Apr. 7, 2019. After hacking the official PetroBangla website, the suspected hackers called themselves as 'N33LOB33' wrote on the website that 'Your All Data Are Safe' on April 7, 2019 itself.
There were messages by the hackers on the hacked PetroBangla website that says: "Thanks to:| Fir3 H@wk | izocin | Religious Hunter | Dark Coder | Legion Bomb3r W@e3L J@b | Optimus Rotar| Cyber Missilz | ./MrFrank | L10N M1N1 | Mad Sn1per". The message further says "Respect: TiGER-M@TE | Bangladesh Cyber Army | Team_CC | BD Grey Hat Hackers | 3xp1r3 Cyber Army | Bangladesh Script Kiddie Hackers | Blacksmith Hackers Team |".
Tariqul Islam Khan, Public Relation Wing manager of the Petrobangla, said that its server was shut down soon after the website hacking by the state-run corporation.
Around 9.30 AM on Apr. 8, 2019, the Bangladeshi Oil company has restored its website. After recovering the PetroBangla website on Monday (i.e. on April 8, 2019) morning, the Public Relation Wing manager of the Petrobangla claimed that all information on their website was unaffected.
However, after getting restored on Apr. 8, 2019 morning, the official website of PetroBangla was hacked again on the same day - just 7 hours 30 min. later. The hackers successfully managed to hack the PetroBangla website again on Apr. 8, 2019, around 5 PM.
In this second hacking incident of PetroBangla website, the hackers again using the same name "N33LOB33" left a message on the website asking the Bangladeshi Oil company to get in touch with them through email. The message read: "it is not possible to work with such security. It has been hacked again. Contact at n33lob33@mail.ru. We are fixing the weakness in your security".
"Hacking Is Not Crime. It's An Art Of Logic. Respect : TiGER-M@TE | Bangladesh Cyber Army | Team_CC | BD Grey Hat Hackers | 3xp1r3 Cyber Army | Bangladesh Script Kiddie Hackers | Blacksmith Hackers Team |," the PetroBangla website message added.
The website of Petrobangla was hacked earlier also just after Rohingya influx begun on Aug. 25, 2017, as well as on Dec. 19, 2015.
