Leading Anti-Spam Organizations Come Together To Fight Spam

'United Nations Internet Governance Forum' is a novice online information source (www.StopSpamAlliance.org) to help in countering spam. In its very first meeting in Athens, 6 premier international anti-spam initiatives were introduced.

As per a posting on the union's Website, the constituting organizations are European Union's Contact Network of Spam-enforcement Authorities (CNSA), International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), London Action Plan, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and Seoul-Melbourne anti-spam group.

The syndicate brings together all the leading organizations under one roof to better integrate the efforts to check the spammers who usually disturb law implication efforts by operating across the borders. In spite of improved blocking and filtering systems, spam continues to block the net, consuming bandwidth and circulating malicious programs.

The alliances' Website comprise of the information on anti-spam laws and implementation activities, business and consumer education, best methods to fight spam and international cooperation.

The initiative was established in conformity of the request of World Summit Information Society, 2005, Tunis that asked the members to tackle the growing and major problem of spam.

Claudia Sarroco of OECD's Information and Communications Policy Division said that governments could access the site to inform about the anti-spam law formation. The private segment could create best practice measures by using already employed ones. That way the traps can be avoided experienced by those who already enforced these ideas.

This Website is the only entry point for parties interested in being a part of the move against spam. They can check the portfolio of other organizations working in this area.

This type of initiative has been enforced successfully in Australia with cooperation between ISPs and government that resulted in implementing much harder best measure by the former than government would have specified earlier.

Fight against spam cannot see success without the coordination between regional organizations and public and private stakeholders. The Website will provide the information on combating spam to every user, be in any corner of the world.
