Police Arrests A Porn Website Operator

A porn website where almost 10, 000 members shared lewd images of their wives and girl-friends has been spotted. Police has arrested the site operator. Police also arrested 55 of the site members accusing them of uploading obscene images, as per the news reported by English.chosun.com on June 29, 2007.

According to the police, the Webmaster aged 39 started running a web site in September '05, which provided opportunity to share pictures and video clips portraying sexual intercourse and nudity performed by 9,887 members. The police charged the Webmaster of accumulating U.S. $1=W938 from 857 members for providing them a two month membership. The pictures depicted stupefying actions like threesomes and partner swapping, said the police.

According to Internet laws, it is illegal to show child pornography or adult pornography on the Internet. It is easier to define pornography than the more abstract concepts like "obscenity". However, several forms of content may or may not have pornography based on different circumstances.

Police discovered that there was already a suspension order on the Webmaster in March 2005 for the site he operated yet he started it again. While pretending to be a member the Webmaster joined in partner swapping three times. The Cyber Crime Investigation Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police has asked the Korea Information Security Commission to take the site offline.

A police representative reported that the Webmaster along with 9 other members of the site was engaged in the obscene practices for as many as seven times via the site facilities. Three couples swapped partners and watched each other enjoy sex, according to the police, as reported by English.chosun.com.

The large group of 53 members comprised of office employees, college students, and entrepreneurs who were between 30-40 years in age, four of whom were women. Members told police the reason why they had become members of the website was to get rid of their boring sex lives.

According to the police representative, if there are payment exchanges for partner-swapping it constituted commercial sex, which is legally invalid. Posting naked pictures of women on the Internet without their permission is a serious cyber offense, he added, and English.chosun.com published it on June 29, 2007.
