Several variants of a made-in-China virus, called Hupigon, pose a serious threat to cyberspace here, according to a Korean online security company. AhnLab, the country’s top anti-virus vaccine developer, Tuesday said Hupigon might wreak havoc on affected computers through remote control. ``A total of 23 Hupigon variants were detected in Korea last month alone, almost the same as the 26 identified during the first four months this year,’’ AhnLab senior researcher Kang Eun-sung said. Hupigon refers to a family of backdoor Trojan programs created in China that infect computers run by the Windows operating system Microsoft.
