Inboxes everywhere swamped by spam mail

WANT to buy computer software at 90 per cent off the retail price?

Or maybe you want some blue pills to fire up your sex life?

You might not need either, but chances are that you've received offers like this in your e-mail.

Experts estimate that nine out of 10 e-mails received by computer users now comprise junk advertising, reported London's Sunday Times.

And despite a crackdown on senders of junk e-mail, spammers are believed to be sending more spam e-mail now than ever before.

In a recent study, American e-mail security firm Postini found that the number of spam e-mail messages detected in November was 7 billion, up from from 2.5 billion in June. Spam makes up 91 per cent of all e-mail.
