Inboxes everywhere swamped by spam mailWANT to buy computer software at 90 per cent off the retail price? Or maybe you want some blue pills to fire up your sex life? You might not need either, but chances are that you've received offers like this in your e-mail.
And despite a crackdown on senders of junk e-mail, spammers are believed to be sending more spam e-mail now than ever before. In a recent study, American e-mail security firm Postini found that the number of spam e-mail messages detected in November was 7 billion, up from from 2.5 billion in June. Spam makes up 91 per cent of all e-mail.
