New Virus Spreads Fast via Facebook
SPAMfighter has learned that a new trojan, called Mech Koobface, is spreading at lightning speed via Facebook.
Mech Koobface steals your information, attacks your system and closes it down permanently.
It is often initiated by a user called Smart Girl15, who requests friendship. Our recommendation is not to accept. The user tries to send you infected links, typically with titles like Barack Obamas scandal, etc.
If some of your friends have accepted and / or clicked on the link in "Barack Obama's scandal", it is possible that your system will be infected as a result.
SPAMfighter generally recommends not to click on links or applications that look suspicious, even if they come from your own Facebook friends, as they can easily be attacked by a malicious trojan.
At the same time we recommend that you have an antivirus or an anti-spyware program installed on your computer. If you do not have one, you can download VIRUSfighter and SPYWAREfighter, which are free for 30 days.
