Sophos Reports Web page Infection at the Rate of 1 in 5 SecondsThe first quarter of 2008 has seen a significant rise in Web threats with at least one Web page is infected at every interval of five seconds, highlights a new study by Sophos, the vendor for computer security. Sophos, which released its, Security Threat Report, on April 23, 2008 said that a median of more that 15,000 Web pages were hijacked every day during January-March 2008. Compared to this, for 2007 there was on an average of 6,000 pages infected daily or one page compromised at every 14 seconds. According to the report, malware authors continue to prefer the Web to launch their attacks from.
