Impersonated ImageShack Site Delivering Trojan

According to a cyber threats experts and a security consultant working independently, on June 11, 2008, by blending hoax image files with domain typosquatting, malware authors managed to mimic ImageShack, the fifth largest Website for hosting images on the Internet.

Independent Security Researcher Dancho Danchev indicated that this is due to a malware distribution campaign over MSN, which is duping users into infecting themselves by clicking on the links that take them to hoax image files, as reported by ZDNet on June 11, 2008.

Meanwhile, the new IM malware campaign proves that the security tip against clicking executable files is almost becoming irrelevant.
