Multimedia Files on Hard Drives Latest Victim Of Trojan Strikes

As per Secure computing, a new Trojan has been detected that corrupts multi-media files on a user's hard disk drive with malevolent content. The malware inserts malevolent content within the multimedia files derived from the Advanced Systems Format (ASF), an extensively utilized format for audio and video content like MP3, WMV video files, Windows media audio music files, and many more.

Furthermore, while attempting to replay any of these corrupted files, some pop-up ads from Windows Media Player appear requesting the victim to download a codec, an essential software to play the file.
