PandaLabs Predicts Rise in Volume of Malware for 2009

According to the malware predications of PandaLabs, the volume of malware like worms, viruses, trojans etc. is going to continue to increase in 2009. During January-August 2008, Panda Security's laboratory identified the same number of malware as during the last 17 years combined ever since 1991, and this trend is likely to go on or even increase in 2009.

The security firm said that malware like fake anti-viruses and banker trojans are expected to be the most widespread in 2009. Banker trojans are created to capture login passwords necessary for online banking, whereas fake anti-viruses pretend to be genuine ยป SPAMfighter News - 12/22/2008
