Hacker Steals EOS Coins Valuing $222K after Attacking ‘Eosbet Cassino’s’ Dice App

A hacker using the handle "aabbccddeefg' on the Internet recently exploited EOS smart contract's security flaw for filching more than 44,400 EOS virtual cash equivalent of $220,000 via utilization of one betting app based on blockchain. Zdnet.com posted this, September 14, 2018.

It was in September that the hacker carried out the theft as he targeted the EOSBet Dice app that EOSBet Cassino -name of the company runs it. The app is used for betting EOS crypto-currency by end-users when they play certain dice game.

Over recent months the game appeared active online and earlier this month one Reddit user found 'aabbccddeefg' the EOS end-user who moved money of an extremely big amount from the shared funds purse of the EOSBet Dice game.

According to this Reddit user, he detected the security flaw inside the source code of EOSBet Dice that in turn pertained to 'Fair Dice,' an EOS game of dice betting of open source kind.

The hacker, to carry out the theft, made one transaction with the core game A/C of EOSBet that capitalized on parameter checks not being properly done, which let the hacker do certain manipulations with the game so it would send back false payment receipts.

EOSBet Cassino confirmed the hack and said it would release more details once it was able to determine them.

The company is no longer floating the game on the Net after the hack.

A few other Reddit users maintaining watch over the hacker's A/C observed the hacker as having little enthusiasm towards giving away his money in laundering that would have him lose tracks.

Further, over and above the latest incident, only some days back, the company taunted one of its rivals on Twitter which had got hacked. In its twitter message EOSBet described DEOS Games as one copycat as well as rival of its dice game and that it encountered one massive hack which resulted in drainage of its bankroll. Hitherto, all dice games along with copycat websites had been hacked. But EOSBet has the largest bankroll, an advanced UI, and the best software creators, so gamers should play on, the company stated.
