Victim of Internet Sex Abuse Makes an Emotional Testimony

Alicia Kozakiewicz told the Congress on October 17, 2007 how she was befriended by an online sexual abuser in an Internet chat room, who then abducted her, and drove her across the state. He locked the innocent girl in a cage in his basement where she was beaten, tortured and raped.

The victim told the Congress that she was a regular 13 year old girl who was hooked to the Internet. She said that she was lured by an Internet predator who took her to Virginia. He made her undergo various tortures and made her a victim of sexual abuse. The members of Congress were visibly moved by this account, some of them even had tears in their eyes, reported CBS News correspondent Chip Reid.

This incident, which took place six years ago on the New Year's Day, changed the life of Alicia completely. The ABC NEWS reported on October 17, 2007 that Alicia feels her childhood has been completely destroyed and the little child that she was, was murdered in that basement. She said that she still mourns for that child which she feels is still caught in that basement.

She was rescued as her captor sent her images over the Internet about which one viewer informed to the police. The abuser is now in jail and Alicia has taken it upon herself to warn the children and their parents of the dangers of online chat room. Alicia also warned the House Judiciary Committee to the dangers of online sex crimes.

CBS News reported her saying to the lawmakers that the boogy man is real and not any imagination. It lived in her computer and may also live in theirs and attack their children when they are out at work.

On New Year's Day in 2002, Kozakiewicz was kidnapped from her parents' home in Pennsylvania by Internet special friend and was driven to a house in Virginia where she had to fall a victim to horrific sexual abuse. FBI agents later rescued her. Alicia is now a college student. Scott Tyree, Herndon, Virginia, was held responsible for the crime and he is serving the sentence for 20 years.
