Fresh Scareware “Vista Security 2011” Identified

US-based Enigma Software Group a specialist in Internet security examination lately identified Vista Security 2011, name of a scareware software. The fake security software is the most recent of its kind, circulating online.

Highlights the security company, typical to scareware programs, Vista Security 2011 also contaminates computers through a Trojan virus. This virus likely comes packaged with software, which is taken down from freeware websites alternatively come through files taken down from P2P programs. These may also come concealed within a bogus video codec or phony update for security software.

Understandably, Vista Security 2011 appears without informing the PC operator that leads to security alerts as well as system scans for that operator, highlights the company.

But these alerts normally aren't true and they attempt at drawing the end-user's notice after making him believe that there is a threat on his PC. This threat, however, is totally false as also Vista Security 2011 too wholly functions ineffective in eliminating just any malicious program be it a Trojan, a virus or a spyware. It's reported that Vista Security 2011 is part of the same scareware group like Best malware Protection, Vista Total Security 2011, XP Home Security 2011, and anti-virus Anti-spyware 2011.

Interestingly, the security company says that Vista Security 2011 merely contaminates PCs, which have Windows Vista running on them. The reason for this is attributed to Vista Security 2011 not declaring its name till the time it has assessed the contaminated PC as well as determined that a Windows version is running on that system. And after it figures out the version, the scareware assigns itself a name that is derived from that Windows edition. Thereafter, it scans lists and chooses a 2-word combination alternatively a combination of one particular year and a particular word.

In addition, the company says that irrespective of whatever name Vista Security 2011 may take to disguise itself, this scareware is known to be around from 2008, while it's generally called Trojan.Win32/FakeRean. Evidently, there have been many versions of FakeRean, with the latest one emerging at February 2011 end, states the security company in conclusion.
