Mission French Finance Ministry: Cyber Attack

In a cyber attack targeted towards attacking the French finance ministry, files on the G20 summit held in Paris in February 2011 was infiltrated, reports bbc.co on March 7, 2011.

The spyware attack took a thrall of 150 computers during the spyware attack, which was introduced through email attachment facilitated by the pirated email addresses. According to Patrick Pailloux, the head of national IT security agency ANSII (France), this was the first cyber attack targeting the French state, reports connexionfrance on March 07, 2011.

Paris Match even mentioned "sources close to the affair", that several documents related to the G20 Summit, held for discussing significant world economy had been imitated. A senior official with the finance ministry even acclaimed Paris-Match magazine of specific information being posted in the Chinese sites, reports Connexionfrance on March 07, 2011.

In another event, even the Canadian Government was targeted by unintentional cyber attack from China-based computers in February 2011, which infiltrated two major economic ministries. According to Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, it seemed that cyber crooks had somehow managed to take over the computers of senior government officials with the mission of cracking passwords that conceal the entire data of the government. Even the detection of an unrecognized attempt was to access the computer networks of the ministry was revealed.
