Malware on the Internet Exceeds 1 Million

According to software company, DriveSentry, there are currently over 1 Million malicious programs moving across the Internet. The number is that of unique samples of malware, the company detected in just three years from 2005-06 to 2007-08, as reported by Scenta on April 10, 2008.

According to officials at DriveSentry, the malware comprises all types of threats such as worms, viruses and Trojans. They also said that this explosion was a result of the activity of well-funded criminal gangs.
