LinkedIn Site Abused With 419 Scam

While cyber criminals increasingly target social networking sites to meet their nefarious ends, the networking Website, LinkedIn, has become the latest company facing the exploitation of online fraudsters, warns BitDefender, the net security company, as reported by Siliconrepublic on April 24, 2008.

The networking site www.linkedin.com that operates professionally is being used as the latest medium for Nigerian 419 scams. So, in this LinkedIn based scam, an e-mail invitation is sent from the LinkedIn user to another site member. The invitation is a request for adding that user to the other member's network of social communication.
