Microsoft Failed to Crush Storm Botnet, Says Trend Micro
According to rival security researchers of Microsoft, contradictory to the claims made by the company for crushing the Storm botnet, it still exists. Instead, the criminals behind creating the army of compromised computers were diversified in 2007 in order to delude security experts and to expand their business.
Usually Microsoft releases its MSRT (Malicious Software Removal Tool) program updates on Patch Tuesday every month and it automatically reaches to all Windows users. The program provides descriptive definitions of popular malware, sniff systems for various malicious codes, and delete them. In September 2007, Microsoft detected Storm Trojan horse for the first time.
