Spammers Sending More Malware-laden E-mails

Technology Editor, Technology Journalist and Blogger from Sydney, Australia, revealed that now spammers are sending more virus-loaded e-mails and the latest spam guarantees to fool a large number of Internet users, as per the reports published on April 29, 2008 by iTWire.

According to the Blogger, he received a series of e-mails likely to be imported from "NetBizHelpers: Your Guide for the Digital Frontier!" offering "FREE 101 Mini-Articles" and also including 101.zip file insisting to open it, which is very dangerous.

According to the other computer security vendors and the Blogger, there is only one law for e-mails, i.e. an Internet user should be very cautious while opening any unsought attachment from a friend and they should never open an e-mail send from any unknown company or a person.

Meanwhile, mostly unsolicited attachments are usually sent by friends, having funny video clips or PowerPoint slideshows. Thus, it is easy to open these attachments as they are sent by friends. However, the Blogger remembers the first time the Melissa virus attacked his computer.

Moreover, the e-mail published by iTWire thanked its users for requesting "FREE 101 Mini-Articles" and said that this new resource provides TONS of great articles to the user, which can be used by victims on their newsletter, e-zone or website. It also allows the user to use it as bonus for his subscribers.

The files are new but it is unsafe to open ".exe" files from mails as they are corrupted files and contain malware, spyware or other software, which is expected to join PC of the victim up to botnet. Thus, this can be easily used by the spammer for online crimes, says the Blogger.

So the Internet users should not open these e-mails and should be very cautious while opening any mail offering free books, naked pictures or anything free, especially if the user has not asked for any information.

Thus, the Australian Blogger suggested users that if they are trapped in the e-mail scam, they should immediately scan their computers and clean it with available computer security software and other spyware cleaning software also.
