Adobe Alerts on Flaws in its Reader & AcrobatAdobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat users are making their systems up-to-date following a warning from the company that critical vulnerabilities have been found in the pair of programs that could allow execution of a remote code. Adobe released patches for the bugs on May 7, 2008. Ever since researchers at Fortinet first detected the two flaws in February 2008, the bugs have existed in the Adobe supplied programming interface, JavaScript API. Derek Manky, Security Researcher representing Fortiguard Global Security Team said that the programming interface is designed as an interactive method of exchanging communication with PDF files.
