Cooperative Bank Cautioned its Customers about a Trojan

On May 25, 2008, the Taiwan Cooperative Bank cautioned the customers about swindlers who acquire details about their shopping on the net and then appear as employees of credit card issuing banks or workers from television shopping channels to deceive customers of money, as reported by The China Post on May 26, 2008.

As explained to the media, a Spokesman of the bank claimed that in the 4th week of May 2008, the bank got reports of people appearing as employees from credit card issuing banks and TV shopping channels and informing shoppers that they had made mistakes in their transactions.

The swindlers also claimed that all this was carried out by swindlers with the assistance of harmful malicious programs. He added that swindlers got the data of customers of The Cooperative...
