US and China Prime Sources of Hacking Attacks

The United States and China were the two prime sources of hacking attack traffic on the Internet during the first three months of 2008, according to Akamai Technologies, a company specializing in Acceleration of Web Application and Management of Performance, as per news published on June 1, 2008.

Approximately 17% of exploit traffic and denial-of-service originated in China, with the US closely following at 14%. Other major origins of attack were Brazil, Argentina, South Korea, Japan, India, Turkey and Taiwan.
