New ‘Glengary’ Virus Spreading Across Computers

Internet surfers are reportedly risking their computer by downloading a software dubbed as win32/glengary.p. The hazardous software is, in fact, a virus that, according to security analysts, is crafted to falsely alarm the user that his hardware needs protection against malware, as reported by Thaindian News on June 13, 2008.

Thus, according to the analysts, the virus tells end-user that her/his computer is under threat and harmful malware items have been detected in her/his hardware. Subsequently, it says that these malware samples could be neutralized by win32/glengary.p.
