Compromised Sony PlayStation Website Presents ScarewareAccording to SophosLabs, a new surge of SQL injection attacks that is circulating across the Internet has made Sony USA's PlayStation Website a victim of the assault. Explaining the procedure of the attack, SophosLabs writes in its company blog that when a visitor accesses the vulnerable PlayStation site, a malicious script pretending to do an online scan of the security of the user's PC starts running. At the same time, it presents a false warning that the PC has been infected with various pieces of malware, as reported by InformationWeek on July 2, 2008.
